Village Concert Series: Gravel Road Bluegrass Band

Gravel Road Bluegrass Band, based in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, is a core group of three multi-talented musicians along with supporting members who perform in a variety of venues in the southeast. The group’s varied musical backgrounds have converged into a style that is unique and innovative in the acoustic music world. Before forming Gravel Road, band members enjoyed touring individually with acts like The Osborne Brothers, Blake Shelton, Pam Tillis, and Whisperin’ Bill Anderson. Their different backgrounds bring together a unique and exciting sound that keeps audiences wanting more. Members are Derek Deakins, guitar and vocals, Lisa Deakins, fiddle and vocals, and Meg High, vocals. Listeners enjoy the group’s unique arrangements of bluegrass, country, folk, and pop tunes along with their vocal harmony precision.
Gravel Road’s latest music recording, “Where We Belong,” features 14 tracks ranging from bluegrass classics like “Little Girl of Mine in Tennessee” and “Those Memories” to pop hits such as “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5 and “Eleanor Rigby” by the Beatles.
