Charleston Architecture with Guest Speaker: Pamela Durkin Gabriel
Pamela Gabriel earned a B.A in art history from the College of Charleston. She has written several books about Charleston architecture and history. She is a member of Mount Pleasant Historical Commission and lives in Mount Pleasant. Some of her books include:
- If These Walls Could Talk, an account of historic structures in Charleston.
- The Unique Charleston Single House: A Brief Guide to Charleston Architecture, that discusses Charleston’s history, the evolution of the Charleston single house design, architectural styles and architectural details consecutively.
- The Great Cooper River Bridge, provides the complete history of this architectural icon, exploring how early twentieth-century Charleston helped shape the bridge and how the bridge subsequently shaped the city
