Wise Giving

Nov. 18 – Dec. 31

There is no better gift to give or receive than to help someone in need. Wise Giving is MPPC’s annual, alternative gift giving campaign where donations are given to one of our trusted mission partners in honor of someone special in your life. Since 2014, we have raised over $181,000 to improve the lives of many in our community and around the world. You may give now or shop in the Fellowship Hall on Sundays between services or in the office during business hours.

Online: To give to more than one mission partner, follow the prompts until you see “Give to an additional fund.”

Angel Tree

Nov. 25 – Dec. 16

Return wrapped gifts w/angel, by Dec. 16
Join us to help empower parents as well as their children this holiday season. Simply stop by the Fellowship Hall and select an angel from the tree. Each angel describes a child in our community along with their wish list. You can help us make these wishes come true with your generosity. Join our mission to spread the love of Christ to these children and their families. For more information, click the button below to reach the team leader.

Local Missions

The heart of Local Missions at MPPC is to connect with children and families in need, sharing the love of Christ in empowering and life-giving ways. Learn more about our local partners:

Ronald McDonald House Dinners

Ronald McDonald House is a “home-away-from home” where 35 families can stay while their children undergo extensive medical treatment. Here, parents and children lead a life as normal as possible during these traumatic times without the financial burden of costly hotel and travel expenses. Every night a volunteer group prepares the evening meal for these families. Members of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church have been preparing this meal on the last Thursday of every month for more than 15 years. With your support, we can continue to provide a monthly meal ($300 per month) to 70 individuals. We hope that you will consider supporting this worthwhile cause as a volunteer or through your generosity. To learn more, contact Bruce McAdams.

MPPC Cookbook

The MPPC cookbook is a collection of family recipes that have been handed down through the years that also contains local restaurant favorites too. With proceeds being donated to Florence Crittenton Programs, this cookbook is a useful and meaningful gift during the holidays. You may pick up a copy in the church office ($30, cash/check) or purchase online below ($31). Click here to order with shipping ($36).

Florence Crittenton Programs assist young single mothers with the necessities they need to successfully raise healthy babies while empowering these moms to get on their feet with mentoring programs, employment assistance, and housing. The programs have been a force for good in our community since 1897.

I-Beam is a mentoring program aimed at building reading skills, self-esteem, and social skills for children who are in need of these services at Jennie Moore Creative Arts Elementary School. You can help a struggling reader by becoming an I-Beam mentor, spending one hour a week with a child to encourage the practice of reading. If you have a passion for working with children, join our mentoring team during the school year or over the summer! For more information, contact Sharon Barnett.
