SUMMARY:Village Concert Series: Charlotte Master Chorale Chamber Singers
DESCRIPTION:Our first Village Concert Series of 2025 will be an inspiring performance of “The Sacred Veil” performed by the Charlotte Master Chorale Chamber Singers; Kenney Potter\, Conductor; Philip Biedenbender\, Piano and Tanja Bechtler\, Cello. \nExperience the mesmerizing beauty of Eric Whitacre’s The Sacred Veil\, a poignant composition that weaves together voices and instruments to explore the depths of love\, loss\, and the enduring power of the human spirit. This moving work features a series of poems written by Tony Silvestri about his relationship with his late wife Julie\, her battle with ovarian cancer\, and the grief he experienced as a result of her passing in 2005. \nThis concert is free and open to the public. It will take place in the Sanctuary of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church on Saturday\, February 8 at 4 p.m. Please join us!

DESCRIPTION:Pianist Kevin Ayesh has presented concerts and master classes throughout the United States (he has performed in all 50 states\, Puerto Rico\, and the District of Columbia)\, as well as in Canada\, England\, Ireland\, Northern Ireland\, Belgium\, Germany\, Sweden\, Switzerland\, and Hong Kong. As a North Carolina Visiting Artist for four years\, he appeared before thousands across that state\, performing as many as 50 recitals in a season. \nAyesh will be performing a program of audience favorites\, including Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue\, for the Village Concert Series on Thursday\, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. This concert is free and open to the public\, we invite you to join us!

DESCRIPTION:Sords & Overly have toured together extensively\, culminating in an appearance at the Ravinia Festival (and a profile on Chicago’s WFMT)\, and bring their eclectic sonata/show program to Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. The evening’s repertoire includes works by Brahms\, Mozart\, Sarasate\, and Franck\, including anecdotes and humor from the stage. Sords has performed as soloist with nearly 300 orchestras on four continents; Overly has appeared with The Cleveland Orchestra and in Vienna; together\, they bring their unique chemistry to the Concert Series. \nJoin us for this eclectic program on Thursday\, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. in the MPPC Sanctuary.
