SUNDAY MORNINGS AT 9:45 AM

While both middle and high school youth meet in the basement, they will meet separately as they study the lectionary passage for each Sunday using the PCUSA curriculum Feasting on the Word. This engaging curriculum parallels Sunday’s sermons as MPPC tends to follow the common lectionary which Feasting also follows.

CONFIRMATION ON SUNDAYS MORNINGS

Confirmation is open to any youth who are serious about exploring their faith and who want to become members (disciples) at MPPC. Confirmands should be in the eighth grade or older. Register on Realm. We will meet on Sundays from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

SUNDAY NIGHTS

On Sunday nights we will gather for Youth Group and an opportunity to explore our faith through conversation and discussion. Youth will have input into the topics that matter to them.

Middle School Youth Group will meet from 5-6 p.m., while High School will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Both groups will overlap with dinner from 6-6:30 p.m. and they will both meet on the MPPC campus.

Other Events

8th Grade Confirmation

Confirmation is a unique experience for 8th graders at MPPC. Our youth are able to seek out new and meaningful insights to their faith and what is means to be a part of the body of Christ Sunday morning classes, small group discussions, and service opportunities.

Most classes meet during the Sunday School hour (9:45-10:45 AM) in Grace Hall 221/223/225, with additional outings and/or meetings that include one evening meeting with Session, a couple of church visits, and a retreat. Young people will receive a NRSV Study Bible from the church at the beginning of the program.

Trips & Retreats for Middle and High School

TRIPS & RETREATS – MIDDLE SCHOOL
Trips and Retreats at MPPC seek to strengthen the community of faith through fellowship, recreation, study, and serving our neighbors here at home and around the world. Whether it is growing in faith through the Montreat Middle School Conference at Maryville College or taking on the zip line at Awanita Valley Christian Retreat Center, it is a response to God’s grace and claim on our lives.

SUMMER RETREATS – HIGH SCHOOL
Summer Trips keep the high school youth very busy. For our first summer trip, we head up to the mountains of North Carolina for a week to participate in the Montreat Youth Conference. At the end of the summer, eight to ten of our youth join a group of adults and fly down to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to work with the LAMB Institute.
