A lifelong outdoorsman\, Jim grew up in Florida and has spent over 45 years living along the South Carolina coast—experiences that have deeply influenced his connection to nature and his photographic vision. \nHis passion for the natural world\, water sports\, and exploration has taken him across 38 U.S. states and 25 countries\, from the icy reaches of Alaska to the southern tip of Cape Horn\, and from the landscapes of Europe to the wilds of Africa. \nJim’s work has been featured in a range of print and digital publications and has earned numerous awards in local\, state\, and regional photography competitions. He frequently shares his expertise and stories through presentations to photography clubs\, churches and community groups across South Carolina.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Blessing of the Animals Worship Service as we express our thanks for God’s creative power and sustaining care and acknowledge God’s call to us to be stewards of creation and especially the animals that are placed in our care. This service will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday\, Oct. 12 on the Fellowship Hall porch. Please bring your animal companions – leashed or caged\, real or stuffed or represented by a photograph – as well as a chair for sitting\, if desired. We will also be collecting a pet food donation for ECCO.

DESCRIPTION:Our last blood drive for 2025 is Monday\, October 13 from 1:30 to 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Let’s fill our time slots and collect at least 28 units! \nWhether you have ever donated or not\, please prayerfully consider signing up and join us Monday\, October 13\, 2025: \nDonation is by appointment and Red Cross will be trying hard to stick to the schedule. However\, walk-ins will be accepted and worked in. If possible\, please complete RapidPass before you come to the church. This will streamline the process and save you some time. \nTo schedule an appointment (in order of preference): \n\nOption 1: Download the Red Cross Blood Donor App to your smartphone and from there you can schedule an appointment time. Later\, on the day of the drive\, complete RapidPass. You will need to create a userid and password if this is your first time.\nOption 2: Visit www.redcrossblood.org top right hand corner enter zip code 29464 or sponsor code MPPC to register. DESCRIPTION:National Park Ranger Shelby McAllister will present The Unseen Threat: German U-Boats in Charleston Waters \nWe received many glowing compliments about Shelby’s presentation last May on various lighthouses in our area. On October 27th\, Shelby will return to tell us about German U-Boats in our Charleston Waters. She has done exhaustive research into the German U-boat archives including the cruise logs available for each mission. A visitor to Fort Moultrie Visitor Center today will find displays that says both U-751 and U-455 paid separate visits to Charleston Harbor in 1942\, each laying several mines in our waters. Is that accurate? Were there more incursions? What else is there to the story? Come hear what Shelby can tell us about this unseen threat. \nJoin us for a covered dish luncheon at noon\, bring a covered dish of your choice and chicken tenders will be provided.
