DESCRIPTION:Maundy Thursday Worship\, 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary \nThe word “maundy” is an old English derivative of the Latin word “mandantum\,” which means “commandment.” It is used to identify this day because it was on Thursday evening\, at the Passover meal which we have come to know as “The Last Supper\,” that Jesus said\, “I give you a new commandment\, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you\, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples\, if you have love for one another…This is my commandment\, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this\, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you” (John 13:34-35\, 15:12-14). We will gather in worship around word and sacrament\, remembering this new commandment and considering its call to us today. The service will end in silence with the stripping of the chancel\, a practice dating from the seventh century and originally serving the practical purpose of cleaning the sanctuary in preparation for Easter\, when all things are made new.

DESCRIPTION:We live in troubled and troubling times. As Presbyterians\, we can look to our Book of Confessions as a resource. In this four-week series\, we will explore each of the 20th-century contributions to our Book of Confessions. The study will culminate in writing our own confession or theological statement. Each class will have a short introduction followed by group discussion. We will meet on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:45 p.m. in GH 123-125 starting April 28 and concluding May 19. SUMMARY:Conversations with the 20th Century Confessions
DESCRIPTION:We live in troubled and troubling times. As Presbyterians\, we can look to our Book of Confessions as a resource. In this four-week series\, we will explore each of the 20th-century contributions to our Book of Confessions. The study will culminate in writing our own confession or theological statement. Each class will have a short introduction followed by group discussion. We will meet on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:45 p.m. in GH 123-125 starting April 28 and concluding May 19. Facilitators include Rev. Dr. Nicole Partin Abdnour and Jim Deavor. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the final Pacesetters program of the season on Friday\, May 9 before we take the summer off. We will resume in September! \nThis gathering will consist of fellowship and appetizers at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall\, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Dinner is $20/person\, collected at the door. Meal will be BBQ and/or Fried Chicken w/appetizers\, salad\, sides\, etc. Please RSVP to at susanmell@mac.com or text 843-697-2111 by the end of the day on May 5 if you plan to join us for dinner. \nAfter dinner\, we will walk over to the Sanctuary for the entertainment portion of the night. The program for the evening at 7 p.m. will be the Village Concert Series sponsored by our Fine Arts Ministry! The Astralis Chamber Ensemble will be performing a “Women in Music” concert featuring music for flute\, cello and piano by female composers.

Participants will meet in Seabrook Room 207 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. This class is open to anyone in the community who is interested in learning more about MPPC.
