DESCRIPTION:Join the Pacesetters on Friday\, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for another fun evening of fellowship\, food and…fish?! (And no\, that’s not what’s for dinner!) Our program for the evening will be presented by Carissa V. Bishop from the South Carolina Aquarium! The South Carolina Aquarium is committed to conserving water\, wildlife and wild places. With education\, research and community engagement\, the South Carolina Aquarium focuses on fostering positive change for the natural world surrounding us through our conservation efforts. On November 8\, come learn about the aquarium’s conservation initiatives and ways you can get involved! \nCarissa\, our presenter\, is a member of MPPC and attended preschool here! \nDoors will open at 5:30 for appetizers followed by a catered meal at 6 p.m. and then the presentation will begin at 7 p.m. More details regarding the dinner menu will be available closer to the event! DESCRIPTION:Connect 3 and Youngish Adults are jointly hosting a special Sunday morning event Nov. 10 and you are invited! \nKathryn B. McGrew\, Ph.D. is Professor Emerita in the department of Sociology and Gerontology at Scripps Gerontology Center\, Miami University\, Ohio. Kathy has researched\, taught\, and lectured widely about aging; in particular\, the conversations between parents and their children as parents enter the 3rd and especially 4th stage of life when independent living is not feasible. This is a topic that crosses over thresholds and affects us all in our roles as adult children and as parents\, if not now then in the future. As Christians\, we believe God is concerned with the whole of our lives — which includes the difficulties we face and the conversations we have with one another. Living faithfully as Christians invites us to approach uncertain and hard things with the assurance that God is with us and to learn from others\, especially those with knowledge to share. \nJoin us in Grace Hall 221/223/225 at 9:45 Nov. 10.

DESCRIPTION:Our next blood drive is Monday\, November 11\, 2024 from 1 to 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. There is an ongoing blood shortage. Hurricane Helene has caused significant devastation and\, in the days after landfall\, has also disrupted the ability to collect lifesaving blood products throughout the Southeast.\nWhether you have ever donated or not\, please prayerfully consider signing up and join us Monday\, November 11\, 2024: \n\nDonation is by appointment and Red Cross will be trying hard to stick to the schedule. However\, walk-ins will be accepted and worked in.\nIf possible\, please complete RapidPass before you come to the church. This will streamline the process and save you some time.\n To schedule an appointment (in order of preference):\n\nOption 1: download the Red Cross Blood Donor App to your smartphone and from there you can schedule an appointment time. Later\, on the day of the drive\, complete RapidPass. DESCRIPTION:Pianist Kevin Ayesh has presented concerts and master classes throughout the United States (he has performed in all 50 states\, Puerto Rico\, and the District of Columbia)\, as well as in Canada\, England\, Ireland\, Northern Ireland\, Belgium\, Germany\, Sweden\, Switzerland\, and Hong Kong. As a North Carolina Visiting Artist for four years\, he appeared before thousands across that state\, performing as many as 50 recitals in a season. \nAyesh will be performing a program of audience favorites\, including Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue\, for the Village Concert Series on Thursday\, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. This concert is free and open to the public\, we invite you to join us!
