An event every month that begins at 5:30 pm on day Fourth of the month, repeating until January 29, 2023
4th Friday of each month during happy hour 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Up for discussion on July 22nd from 5:30-6:30 p.m. is The Story of My Father by Sue Miller. James Miller was an ordained Presbyterian minister and professor of church history at the University of Chicago and Princeton Theological Seminary. And then one day, his daughter, the acclaimed novelist Sue Miller, received a phone call from the local police that he had been found wandering the area near his home. In this memoir, Sue Miller recounts her and her father’s journey through the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease. As one reviewer puts it, “in luminous prose, Sue Miller has fashioned a compassionate inventory of two lives, a memoir destined to offer comfort to all sons and daughters struggling to make peace with their fathers and themselves.”
The discussion is open to anyone who loves to read and discuss what one has read with fellow bibliophiles. Register to below to join. You will be sent an automatic Zoom link upon registration.
