Registration for Christmas Eve

December 14, 2020 - December 23, 2020

Register for an Indoor Service Here

After the year we’ve had, the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christmas cannot come soon enough! We cannot wait to celebrate the Savior’s birth with you and your family. In order to keep people healthy, we have created a schedule of smaller but more numerous services to accommodate as many Christmas Eve worshipers as safely as we can. The schedule for our eight (8) services is printed below. As you will see, we will be offering both indoor and outdoor worship opportunities, and we hope you will choose one that best fits your family’s needs.

Please note that reservations will be required for the indoor, traditional Sanctuary services only. The portal for reserving seats in our indoor Christmas Eve services will open on Monday, December 14th and remain active until Wednesday, December 23rd (or until the services are full).

As you consider the best option for your family, here is some additional information about worship options for Christmas Eve:

Outdoor Porch Services:
Join us for a family-friendly liturgy of lessons and carols, as we sing with joy some of the most beloved hymns of the season. These three services, which will follow the format we have already established for Sunday morning outdoor worship, will be led from the Fellowship Hall porch. Bring your own chairs to gather in the unpaved Whilden Street lot, making sure to maintain at least six (6) feet between family groups. Masks must be worn at all times, even while singing. Services will be held rain or shine, so please come prepared if rain is expected.

Traditional Sanctuary Services:
The services in the Sanctuary will follow the protocols recently established by the session for in-person services. The congregation will be limited to sixty (60) persons in the Sanctuary and an additional sixty (60) persons in the Fellowship Hall, where the full service will be visible through live-streaming. While we will not be able to sing as a congregation, beautiful sacred music will be offered to lift our spirits heavenward. Masks are also required at all times.

For those of you who are not yet comfortable attending in person, our evening indoor services (5, 7, and 9 p.m.) will also be live-streamed on our website (mppc.net/watch-live-on-sunday) as well as on our Facebook and Youtube pages. At these same services, we will recess outside, where we will observe our beloved tradition of lighting candles and singing together. For safety reasons, we ask that worshipers continue to wear masks during the Service of Lights, and to also bring their own candles and lighters for personal use.

Other Information:

  • There will be no nursery provided, so children are welcome at all services.
  • Bulletins will be provided online only.
  • The unpaved lot adjacent to the Fellowship Hall will be closed for parking on Christmas Eve until 4:45 p.m. to accommodate porch services.
