Ash Wednesday
March 2, 2022

The Lenten Journey from the ashes of death to resurrected life begins on the first day of Lent, Ash Wednesday. The ashes which are placed on our foreheads in the shape of the cross symbolize our mortality, the brokenness of our lives, and our need for forgiveness.
At MPPC, we will begin our Lenten journey on Ash Wednesday, March 2, with the first of the SEVEN WORDS, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)
The sanctuary will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You are invited to receive the imposition from a pastor at any time during those hours. At the beginning of each hour, the church bell will be rung followed by a five-minute liturgy of Scripture and prayer. A worship service which will include music, a brief homily, and the imposition of ashes will begin in the sanctuary at 7:00 p.m.
