COMFORT MINISTRIES

Comfort Ministries is an evolving ministry focusing on members when they suffer a death in their immediate family. We provide a meal for the family if the services are out of town. If it is a church member who dies, we offer to provide a lunch for the family members and special guests either right before or right after the funeral services as a blind gift from church members who are willing to prepare food for them.
Members who would like to participate can help by:
-
preparing a cassserole we can freeze
-
be willing to bake or make food for fried chicken lunch
-
help deliver a meal
-
help serve and clean up a lunch at the church
-
write cards or notes to the families who have lost a loved one.
Many families will have plenty of attention and
don't really need our help, but there are so many
members who are not involved with smaller
groups, Sunday School classes, circles, men's
groups, wednesday night classses, so there is not
a core group who can actively help them. We just don't want anyone to "fall through the cracks" especially at a time they need their friends in the Church the most.
If any of these activities are of interest to you, call or email Tom Herrington at church (884-4612) or Jo Lemmons at
881-1155 or flush804@comcast.net.
