Mission Statement:
As a ministry of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Learning Center (MPPLC) provides a faith-based early-childhood education program that fosters children's spiritual, ethical, social, and intellectual development. While nurturing children's academic skills in a loving environment, we strive to deepen our children's commitment to Christian values including kindness, responsibility, and respect for others -- qualities we believe are essential to developing caring, well-rounded individuals.
The Learning Center, established in 1970, exists first and foremost to introduce little children to Jesus in an atmosphere that is warm, loving, fun, and instructional. We have a sincere love for children and a commitment to help families raise their children to be prepared educationally, emotionally, socially, and spirtually to meet the challenges that are ahead of them. We believe that our preschool provides an environment that is safe and conducive to good health and where children can work, play, and learn together while being guided toward a happy, wholesome development. We believe that each child should be encouraged to progress at his own rate of speed toward enriched experiences, self-discipline, and the ablility to make good choices. Our aim is to provide an education that develops the whole child by providing an educational experience of lasting value. We aim to help develop in children the feeling of being loved and valued. We keep our program flexible so that individual needs may be met, and each child can progress at their own rate of speed.
Sessions: School Day Hours
Infants (3 months by Sept 1) attend on Fridays
from 9AM to noon.
Toddlers 12-17 months (this age by Sept 1) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9AM to noon.
Toddlers 18-23 months (this age by Sept 1) Mondays and Wednesdays from 9AM to noon or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9AM to noon.
Two-year-olds (this age by Sept 1) two days a week from 9AM to noon. Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Three-year-olds (this age by Sept 1) Mondays and Wednesdays from 9AM to 1PM, and on Fridays from 9AM to noon.
Four day four-year-olds (this age by Sept 1) Mondays to Thursdays from 9AM to 1PM.
Five day four-year-olds (this age by Sept 1) Mondays to Thursdays from 9AM to 1PM and on Fridays from 9AM to noon.
Our five-year-old kindergarten class (this age by Sept 1) attends Mondays to Thursdays from 9AM to 1PM and on Fridays from 9AM to noon.
Timeframe: The Learning Center is in session from September through May.

Registration forms for the 2009/2010 School Year will be available beginning on January 12, 2009. The forms will be available online, by emailing the Director(mstarr@mppc.net) or Associate Director(bmeares@mppc.net) for a copy via email, by phoning the office or by stopping by the office or reception area of the church administration building. If you are on a wait list for the 2008 - 2009 school year you will need to fill out a new registration form for the 2009 - 2010 school year.
Tuition For the 2008 - 2009 School Year
Tuition may be paid annually, by the semester or each month. There is a registration fee equal to one month's tuition when a space is available for your child.
Infants-$765 annually-$382.50 per semester-$85 a month
Toddlers-$1170 annually-$585 per semester-$130 a month
Twos-$1350 annually-$675 per semester-$150 a month
Threes-$1890 annually-$945 per semester-$210 a month
Fours(four days)-$2205 annually-$1102.50 per semester-$245 a month
Fours and Fives(five days)-$2430 annually-$1215 per semester-$270 a month
