MONTREAT WEEKEND

Each fall, MPPC takes an all-church retreat to the mountains of North Carolina at our denomination's conference grounds -- Montreat Conference Center. www.montreat.org Using most of Montreat's distinctive lodges, we fill the mountains of North Carolina with love and laughter as we all fellowship, worship and play together. We enjoy a weekend away from the September heat of Mt Pleasant and have a time of spiritual renewal and relaxed re-creation, and we get to know new friends and become reacquainted with old friends. Each year, we invite a guest speaker to enlighten and lead us into a new sense of who the church is and who it can be.

SAge COUNCIL

What is The SAge Council?

SAge is the MPPC's ministry with older (not old) adults. The capital "S" stands for "second," since researchers identified a "second middle age" of adulthood, representing a new dimension and vitality of life available for older adults in the twenty-first century. Through this ministry Mt. Pleasant Presbyterians and others of the community who are fifty-five years or older may find new possibilities of learning, witness and service.

The SAge Council is the coordinating body of older adult ministries, initiating new directions and strengthening existing ministries such as the Pacesetters, the Lunch Bunch and the Shepherd's Center of East Cooper. These groups offer opportunities to enjoy fellowship, entertainment, good food, educational programs and service opportunities. They provided lunch for the Ronald McDonald House, they sing in the SAge Choir, have painted Early Childhood Center rooms, and performed numerous other tasks that require the hard work of many volunteers. The Council also coordinates communion for the homebound, provides short-trip transportation for any church member who is unable to drive and assists with minor home repairs.

Pacesetters: Meets the 2nd Friday of each month. September -- May & a summer special in July. These 55s and over gather for an incredible catered meal and program of entertainment and fellowship

Lunch Bunch: meets the last Monday of the month at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Come Join Us for a potluck lunch with our eldest members!!

COVENANT GROUPS

The purpose of Covenant Group Ministries is to be together in Christian community striving to improve our relationships with our Lord, Jesus Christ and with each other. To find out what it means to experience a "Community in Christ". We will share thoughts, have discussions, and enjoy fellowship. Small groups enable us to take "joining" the church to a level of "belonging".

There are many different types of small groups available in addition to Church School. Most of these are sharing & bible study groups, but we are open to developing groups around other topics or interests.

If this sounds like something you may be interested in, please contact us at the church office and we'll get you hooked up.

WOMEN'S RETREAT

The winter of 2008 was our 5th Women's Retreat. Over 125 women gathered at Sea Pines in Hilton Head for a WEEKEND OFF. The Women of MPPC enjoy small group time, inspiring speakers, Bible study, fellowship and relaxation time.

YOUNG ADULTS

"Our Purpose is to welcome and invite young adults, singles & couples, into our church family through fellowship, Bible Study and service as we all grow in our relationships with Jesus Christ."

The Young Adults of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church consist of a wide variety of people in their 20s and 30s. . .Singles, couples, those with or without children. This group is the fastest growing population in our church! A governing council (Young Adult Council or YAC) was formed to organize the group's goals and agenda. The Young Adults at MPPC take part in various types of mission events and service projects! Come get involved, meet other young adults, and enjoy fellowship while we serve those in our community.
